My OSU European Grad Trip
Going on a grad trip to Europe was the best decision I ever made and I can't wait to tell you why - over the next few months - as I relive my trip from start to finish!

From Nice, the group has the same private motorcoach ...
and driver who will drive us through Italy. After a quick breakfast the bus departs and we have about 5 hours drive ahead of us, broken up with bathroom and snack pit stops. Most people use the time to catch up on sleep, read or watch downloaded movies, etc. Kind of funny but my very first Italian coffee – which was 10/10 - was at a gas station on the way to Pisa, the group’s first official stop in Italy.
Our tour director told us all about the history of the Leaning Tower...
and the region of Italy we were driving through – then we got off the bus and walked towards the ‘Square of Miracles.’ Our tour director pointed out some spots to grab lunch and let us go for about 1.5 hours of free time. I think everyone’s first mission was to get a photo pretending to hold up the Leaning Tower – which really was leaning! We had so much fun with photos and exploring I ended up grabbing a quick panini to go for lunch and just like that it was time to meet back up for the bus.

An unforgettable wine experience
Tuscany & Chianti

We drove straight from Pisa to our hotel in the Tuscan countryside – which felt so spacious and luxurious compared to our city life at the start of the trip. The group checked in and the evening ahead was free so we decided to walk into the small quaint town called Chianciano Terme for dinner, some others stayed at the hotel for food and rested up. The next morning we had time to relax – we all needed it. After enjoying breakfast, most of the group sat around the outside pool and soaked up the Tuscan sun.

This afternoon the group made a visit to nearby Chianti for a wine tasting experience which was one of my favorites from the trip. Following this, we had a classic Tuscan feast at a local farm-to-table restaurant and let’s just say no one went home hungry!! All in all the time in Tuscany was peaceful and relaxing – I really didn’t want to leave, but up next is Rome & I can’t wait to see so many iconic landmarks.
