The Galápagos Islands are a chain of thirteen major and some small islands (archipelago.) The Galapagos are best known for the giant tortoise, the marine iguana, the flightless cormorant, and the Galapagos penguin. Las Grietas, the swimming hole on Santa Cruz Island features three crystal clear pools in a picturesque setting, sandwiched in a crevasse between high volcanic walls. A bike ride through the wetlands, along the beach alongside undeveloped nature takes us to the Wall of Tears and a hike up the Sierra Negra volcano, providing the most amazing views with excellent photography opportunities.

Learn about Ecuador’s rich history and culture during your visit in Quito, the countries capital; then explore the Galapagos Islands, a volcanic archipelago in the Pacific Ocean, considered one of the world's foremost destinations for wildlife-viewing. Charles Darwin’s visits became famous for the scientific studies he produced, all of which he said were inspired by the wildlife on the island.

Although the Inca empire originated in Peru, by the early 15th it began to spread to Ecuador. People here are indigenous, African, and European heritage. Galapagos culture is a mixture between the people that came from the highlands, the Amazon Jungle, and the coast of Ecuador.

Everyone needs a time out. Tortuga Bay is the most popular beach on the Galápagos Islands and is frequently ranked as one of the best beaches in the world. Enjoy beach time at leisure alone or with fellow travelers. Consider to snorkel or kayak on the ocean.

Surrounded by one of the richest marine ecosystems in the world, fish and seafood is widely available and mouth-wateringly fresh. Explore some of the exotic varieties of fruit, like citrusy naranjilla and sweet but tart guanabana which are used to make ice creams, juices and other delicious concoctions.
