Optional Excursions - Lucerne, Switzerland
Swiss Folkore Dinner & Show
Only a 30 minute drive from your hotel and at an elevation of 3,500 ft, lies the village of Illgau (pop. 763), home of one of the most charming and typical dining venues in the area, the Sigristenhaus. Named after its original function, the annex to the village church, this rustic restaurant provides a perfect backdrop for the best of Swiss folklore music and entertainment brought to you by local amateur artists this area is famous for. Dance, learn how to yodel, try your luck at the Alphorn or learn how to crack the whip to corral Alpine cattle. During the show, you will be treated to a home-made dinner of Swiss fondue, “Geschnetzeltes” (turkey stew in cream sauce), Swiss-style hash browns, vegetables and dessert. And nobody will go away hungry, as the charming staff keeps filling your plates as you go along.
